Becton Dickinson

Hawkins Construction chose Ryan & Assoicates for the addition and renovation of BD’s new glass sterilization process. Specialty construction activities included: stainless steel lined hot boxes (Cold Rooms); ETO Sterilization Process with separate centralized control room; conductive epoxy flooring; separate exhaust and supply systems with purge capabilities; and LEL and PPM Gas Monitoring Systems through MSA and California Analytical furnished controls.

K-12 Education

Bettendorf High School HVAC Renovations

Supported and installed RTM’s designed and engineered mechanical systems for the full replacement and upgrade of the HVAC system at Bettendorf High School. The existing HVAC system, designed 47 years prior, included seven mechanical rooms all housing original boilers and air handling equipment. Additionally, several areas of the 233,000-square-foot facility were only heated and not air conditioned or performing to modern efficiency standards. Link to website

Morrison Community School HVAC Rennovations

Full HVAC renovation of 3 separate schools for Morrison CUSD #6. Included Morrison High School,. Southside Elementary & Northside Elementary. Ryan & Associates was the prime contractor for this 2 year project and self-performed all mechanical, plumbing and general civil work while scheduling and coordination all other trades to successfully complete the project.

Higher Education

University of Iowa Carver Hawkeye Arena

Ryan took the lead for all BIM coordination on he addition and renovation to Carver Hawkeye Arena, as well as installing all the mechanical and plumbing systems. The addition was 100,000 sq. ft. and the renovation segment of the product included space for team facilities, strength training and meeting rooms for 16 separate sports programs.

St. Ambrose University Center for Health sciences

Estes Construction selected Ryan for plumbing and HVAC services for this state-of-the-art academic building that includes mock nursing stations  in addition to other lab facilities on the Genesis West Campus. The facility utilizes a storm water retention system to lessen storm water issues in the area. “Green” methods were utilized on the HVAC and plumbing systems through a 97% efficient boiler, Aaon unit for fresh air makeup, fluid cooler and R410A heat pumps. The domestic water is heated using the boiler through a heat exchanger. High efficient urinals and toilets were also installed.

Hospitality

R. Richard Bittner YMCA

The R. Richard Bittner YMCA sits on the banks of the Mississippi in downtown Davenport. This 78,000s.f., three-story building’s features include two pools, two steam rooms, and two saunas. An outdoor “River Deck” on the third floor overlooking the river is a highlight of this building. A full-sized gymnasium, state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, 1/8-mile indoor track, multiple group exercise spaces and multiple community spaces and administrative offices are also features of the new facility. the HVAC was accomplished with High efficiency RTU’s and MAU’s. the building proved to be more energy efficient than the simulation model predicted.

Jumers Casino & Hotel

The Jumers project consisted of a six-story hotel with approximately 200 guest rooms, a convention
center, casino and a multi-level parking structure. Heat pumps were used for the HVAC system, and the exterior concrete contained more than 15,000 square feet of snowmelt. The 16 month schedule had a mandatory opening of Christmas 2008, which was accomplished with ease.

Design Build/Design Assist

University of Nebraska: Abel Sandoz Student Housing

Ryan and Associates was selected by Ryan Companies to participate in a Request for Proposal Design Build for the Student Housing Renovation at the University of Nebraska Lincoln Campus. The renovation for the structures at the University occurred during summer breaks covering a three year time frame. During the pre-programming phase of the project we worked directly with the pre-selected engineering group and UNL on various cost proposals, mechanical systems analysis, and innovative suggestions regarding the construction schedule.

Scaffolding

Clinton County Courthouse

Ryan & Associates Civil Division erected and maintained 50 foot scaffolding, perched upon the first level of the clock tower 145 feet from ground level. Multiple levels were added for repairs and painting the clock tower.

Augustana Old Main Remodel

Estes Construction selected Ryan & Associates Civil Division to erect scaffolding for the outside restoration of this historic building. The project scope included painting, tuck pointing, windows, and roof replacement. In addition to the 65’ scaffold surrounding the building, a 65’ scaffold was erected on the roof of the structure.

Delaware County Courthouse

Ryan & Associates Civil Division was solicited to erect this 130 foot scaffold for extensive repairs to the Delaware County Courthouse. Multiple work levels were required for the tuck pointing, roof repairs, and clock repairs.

Government

Rock Island Arsenal Building 299

The remodeling of Building 299 was a design-build project of a 175,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. Required work on the project involved routing gas, nitrogen, water, process water, air, steam, and condensate through the facility. A 4500 foot of gas main also needed to be laid to the facility from the distribution building.

Scott County Emergency Call Center

This emergency call center houses all public safety entities in Scott County, including the Scott County Sheriff, Davenport Police and Fire, Bettendorf Police and Fire and several suburban and rural police and fire agencies. Ryan was responsible for installing all the plumbing, geo-thermal and heat pump systems for the 28,000 sq. ft. facility.

Rock Island Arsenal Building 68

Remodeling Building 68 involved three stories of renovations that totaled 100,000 sq. ft. Extensive plumbing and HVAC work was done to bring this historic 19th Century building up to date. When the renovation is completed, Building 68 will be the Headquarters for the First Army.

Muscatine Hershey Building

Remodel of existing five story building into a mixed use commercial space and 24 unit apartment building.  Ryan & Associates designed and installed the HVAC and plumbing systems.

Multiple building complex consisting of  1-24 unit townhome building, 1-54 unit apartment building and 1-42 unit apartment building

Vintage Cooperative of Bettendorf

Three story building featuring 62 homes with 13 different floor plans, including kitchen, club room, fitness center, workshop, guest suites and heated underground parking.

Healthcare

Faith Regional Medical Center

The Faith Regional Medical Center was a four-story 180,000 sq. ft.  addition to an existing facility, which included a central utility plant renovation and addition. Ryan was chosen for complete mechanical systems, and the job was 3D-modeled before any installation began. The project was completed in 26 months, without any interruption to the existing facility.

Genesis East Medical Center

The Genesis project had a 33,000 square foot addition and renovations to several occupied areas of the hospital, resulting in over 500 mechanical shutdowns that were coordinated with hospital staff and other subcontractors. Ryan was responsible for plumbing, medical gas, and the HVAC systems in ICU, surgery, birthing centers, neonatal units, cardiac catherization labs and administrative wings.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center

Russell Construction selected Ryan & Associates for plumbing and mechanical systems on this new 72,000 sq. ft. facility. The MVRBC services areas along the Mississippi River in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri. This structure is comprised of three main areas: collections, processing, and admissions.

St. Francis Medical Center Acute Care Patient Tower

A 267,000 sq. ft. project, the 11-story bed tower and central utility plant expansion at St. Francis was completed uninterrupted during ongoing hospital operations. Ryan coordinated the MEP drawings for the entire project and installed all of the mechanical, plumbing, and medical gas systems throughout the entire project.
