In February 2018, the Ingredion purchased a soy processing facility in South Sioux City, Nebraska and made capital investments to transform the site to produce protein isolates from peas. For the renovation, Ryan and Associates, Inc. was tasked with fabrication and installation of over the 50,000ft of Sanitary Stainless, Hasteloy and Carbon pipping systems. We continue to work on site.
Iowa Fertilizer Plant was the first nitrogen plant built in the United States in over 30 years.
Ryan & Associates worked with Barton Malow to complete this 2 year project. The project started in February of 2013 and was recently completed in early 2015. It included the new construction and renovation/modifications to the existing Unit 1 and 2 AQCS. The project consisted of the addition of supporting systems for a spray dryer absorber (SDA) scrubber, modifications to existing ductwork, rebuilding of the existing air compressor, and associated additional equipment.
Installation of a new RO water system inside of the existing, and operational, powerhouse. Inclusive of adding structural steel and concrete for a new 2nd and 3rd floor in the existing plant. Also included was setting of 2 new 40ft tall storage tanks and inter connecting piping and insulation of the Vessels and tying all piping systems into the existing plant infrastructure
Self-performed all the site layout utilizing our GPS & Total Station technology for flatwork, footings, foundations, walls, 65 tons of rebar and dewatering.
Self-performed all the site layout utilizing our GPS & Total Station technology. Poured 10K yards of concrete for flatwork, footings, foundations and retaining walls. Installed 1.5MM pounds of rebar. Laid over 2,000ft of drainage piping.

Ryan’s Industrial Division had a substantial role in constructing Penford’s ethanol facility, which has the capacity for 45 million gallons a year. Substantial work was done to fabricate and install piping for distillation and fermentation. Additionally, Ryan was involved with steel erection, heavy rigging, equipment installation, critical alignment , and grouting for the entire project.
Ryan & Associates Civil Division erected and maintained 50 foot scaffolding, perched upon the first level of the clock tower 145 feet from ground level. Multiple levels were added for repairs and painting the clock tower.
Estes Construction selected Ryan & Associates Civil Division to erect scaffolding for the outside restoration of this historic building. The project scope included painting, tuck pointing, windows, and roof replacement. In addition to the 65’ scaffold surrounding the building, a 65’ scaffold was erected on the roof of the structure.
Ryan & Associates Civil Division was solicited to erect this 130 foot scaffold for extensive repairs to the Delaware County Courthouse. Multiple work levels were required for the tuck pointing, roof repairs, and clock repairs.
Ryan performs maintenance on Alcoa’s lube systems, hydraulic systems, gas heating systems, steam processes, and heating systems. We have also been involved in numerous piping and process projects involving hydraulic, pneumatic, de-ionized water, potable water, mill/process water, rolling mill coolants, natural gas, and fuel oil. Alcoa is one of our three VPP Star sites and we have served as their general contractor on furnace rebuilds for the last five years.
The PLTCM, “Coupled Pickle Line and Tandem Cold Rolling Mill” Project allows Severstal to meet the high demand needs of the automobile industry in Michigan as was all other user-end markets. The major equipment consisted of a Five Stand – Six High Cold Mill that links pickling and rolling into one line. This is some of the newest and most productive technology in the world.
